Using the Signature Shade
Will it make them hot?
There is plenty of airflow thanks to our breathable fabric and open top design. Usual caution is recommended when using our Signature Shade for long periods in direct sun or high heat.
Why is it black?
The colour black, absorbs the most UVA and UVB rays. Making it the most stable colour for UV effectiveness. Black does hold heat, so we have ensured that our fabric is a breathable blend to counteract that effect. Synthetic fibres are also the most reliable when defending against UV. We would love to create a natural fibre product in the future.
Can they still see out?
Yes. Our Signature Shade covers from the bumper bar down, so their view forward and up is completely clear. They can see you, or the view, and you can see them.
How do I wash it?
Cold delicates wash, in a wash bag. Line dry.
Fit
Will it fit my pram?
The Signature Shade slides onto your pram's bumper bar and is stretched over the foot area of your pram. Check the Fit Guide for the models we've fitted it to.
If your pram doesn't have a bumper bar, our Signature Shade won't attach.
What age is it best for?
The Signature Shade is best for ages 4–18 months.
What if my pram isn't on the list?
Send us the make and model. We'll let you know whether we've tested it, and if we haven't, what we'd expect.
Can I still fold the pram with it on?
If your pram seat doesn't fold when your frame folds, it will be okay to leave on. The models that have folding seats, we recommend taking off your shade.
Protection
Why doesn't it say UPF 50+?
UPF50+ is a common rating for clothing, skin products and other clothing worn against the skin. Shade fabrics like umbrellas, shade structures and shade sails are tested to a different standard. Our Signature Shade is shade fabric, in place away from your baby, so it's tested to Australian Standard 4174:2018 and rated by Ultraviolet Effectiveness instead.
Ours came back at 98.8%, rated Most Effective, which is the top band. Different scale, same purpose: ensuring appropriate cover for sensitive skin.
Ordering
When does it ship?
We're aiming to dispatch in early November. If that date moves, we'll email you with the new one. If it doesn't suit, we'll refund you in full.
How much is postage?
$10 anywhere in Australia, or free on orders of $100 or more. We only ship within Australia for now.
Can I cancel my pre-order?
Yes. Before your order ships, you can cancel at any time for a full refund. Email us with your order number.
What if it doesn't fit?
Let us know and we'll work with you on a return. You have 30 days after it arrives. The refund policy has the details.
